The SearchEngineLand site revealed that Google is testing a carousel offering specific answers just below the snippets of organic results . While this may be interesting, the space taken up clearly pushes back the other results that follow. In the same spirit, and officially this time, Google indicates that American users will benefit from three developments in the display of Google results , here is a quick recap...
First of all, here is an example of the test reported by the off page seo service American site SearchEngineLand. We do not know what causes the display of this carousel but it seems that it can affect forums, FAQs, guides (...). Indeed, under a chosen natural result, Google then displays a carousel mentioning other questions/answers mentioned on the same site . This is certainly very interesting for the site that benefits from this display, but relatively frustrating for the other pages of the SERP...
Google is testing answers under SERP snippets
In a second step, Google made official on December 5, 2017 the display of three new types of "blocks" of related information in the SERPs, in order to help users. First of all, the Featured snippets dear to Google will benefit from a "People also search for" section , which will display related topics with images, as shown in the following screenshot.
Google offers related searches for Featured Snippets
In the same spirit, Google has updated Knowledge Panels , i.e. information panels provided in particular on mobile when you query the engine. Once again, Google will display a "People also search for" area in order to discuss topics related to the one you are searching for.
Finally, Google remains in its logic by offering relative searches for certain subjects. For example (see screenshot), if an Internet user searches for information on Lionel Messi after having carried out a search on Neymar (or other), the engine will offer search suggestions around these subjects (including football in this case). The objective is to facilitate the transition from one search to another which seems to interest the user at the time.
